Audio Conferencing Options

  • Polycom VoiceStation 300
    • Requires being within the department for the call during business hours
    • The device plugs into a telephone line
    • Two-way communication only (do not use for conferencing with multiple parties)
  • Reservationless-Plus Conferencing
  • www.FreeConferenceCall.com (not associated with the University)
    • Requires an account, but is free for basic conference calls (phone carrier may have additional charges)
    • Can call anywhere, no reservation required
    • Does not have to be coordinated through department staff

Video Conferencing Options

  • Skype
    • Done via computer, not telephone.
    • Staff member can login and set up call if use of department account is required.
    • Department camera and microphone available for reservation.
  • Google Hangouts
    • Done via computer using Gmail or via mobile phone using the Google Hangouts app.
    • Both parties must have a Gmail account.
    • Department camera and microphone available for reservation.
  • Zoom
    • Done via computer, not telephone.
    • Can call anywhere (no need to be in the department or during business hours).
    • Use webcam and microphone at front desk for meetings.
    • Can screen share, record or live stream meeting.
    • Integration with Canvas in development.
