Effective 1/1/2022 the Department of Political Science will annually support international graduate students by providing funds for visa renewal expenses (travel and fees). Funding is made possible through the generous support of the Efimenco Graduate endowment.
International graduate students whose visa has expired, expires during 2023, or will expire during the 2023-24 academic year must complete the Visa Renewal Scholarship application in advance of traveling to renew their visas - no later than March 15, 2024. Awards will be disbursed no later than the week of April 1, 2024.
Notes:
- Award amounts are typically between $800 - $1,500, as determined by expenses, number of applications, and availability of annual funds;
- Funds are disbursed through the scholarship automation system;
- The scholarship is deposited into your student account and covers any outstanding bills you may have. If you do not have any outstanding bills, the money is direct-deposited to your designated checking/savings account.
- Scholarships are subject to applicable taxes (generally 14%).
